Why We’re Out of Network: Guided by Faith and Clinical Wisdom, not insurance company rules.

At Way Maker Behavioral Health, choosing to step outside insurance networks is a purposeful decision based on our faith and clinical values, ensuring we can provide heart-led, personalized care for children and their loved ones.

Insurance-based models often place limitations on mental health treatment. Providers may be pressured to see a high volume of patients, limit appointment times, use specific diagnoses for coverage purposes, or follow insurance-driven treatment requirements rather than focus solely on what is best for the patient. By remaining out of network, we are able to prioritize people over policies.

This model allows us to:

  • Spend more meaningful time with patients and families
  • Provide individualized, thoughtful treatment rather than rushed care
  • Protect patient privacy by minimizing the amount of sensitive information shared with insurance companies
  • Focus on clinical needs instead of insurance restrictions or authorization requirements
  • Offer greater flexibility in treatment planning and follow-up care with quicker appointment availability
  • Maintain a smaller, more attentive practice environment where patients are truly known and valued.

Although we are out of network, many families are still able to use out-of-network benefits for partial reimbursement. We provide superbills upon request to help patients submit claims to their insurance company. At Way Maker Behavioral Health, we believe that exceptional psychiatric care should be guided by clinical excellence, compassion, integrity, and the best interests of the patient—not by insurance company mandates.
