Frequently Asked Questions

What is the duration of the sessions?

First-time assessments usually take 60 to 90 minutes to allow for a full review of your child’s history. Ongoing visits for therapy or medication reviews are generally scheduled for a shorter 20 to 30 minutes.

What is the difference between a family nurse practitioner (FNP) and a psych nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC)?

Unlike a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) who handles broad medicine, a PMHNP-BC's entire clinical focus is expert psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and prescribing.

What are your views on pediatric prescriptions?

We treat pharmacological options as just one part of a holistic plan. Our methods are cautious and data-driven, involving parents in every single choice to evaluate potential benefits against any possible concerns.

Is our spiritual background valued in the clinic?

Absolutely. As a practice rooted in faith, we respect your religious convictions and incorporate them into the treatment plan as you see fit, ensuring our clinical work remains consistent with your family's beliefs.

How can I help my child prepare for the first appointment?

We suggest a transparent and gentle tone. Explain they are meeting a friend who helps kids navigate big emotions. Remind them that honesty is encouraged and that you will be right there with them throughout their time with us.

What about the billing and medical claims?

We serve as an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance directly. However, we provide a super bill containing all necessary codes for you to submit to your provider for a potential refund. Many families receive partial reimbursement sent to 1200 Ella St., Anderson, SC 29621 or their home address, though totals vary by plan.
